Help with internet connection with HOME POD MINI

We just switched to Starling (no choice) and are having difficulty getting a few items to work:

Home Pod Mini.

Siri comes on and says : "I'm having trouble connecting to the internet- For more informatio, check the HOME APP".

I'm dizzy trying to figure this out. Nothing seems to work. I've taken the device off of my devices hoping to re-install it and now I cannot even figure out how to put it back on. Afraid I'm WAY over my head.

please advise!!!
