Can't delete lists from my contacts on my Macbook M4 Air.

I can't delete lists from my contacts on my Macbook M4 Air, running OS 27.0.1.

When I highlight a list in the sidebar and hit the delete key, it gives me a boop saying that that's not functional.

Looking it up, instructions said that if it did not delete, there was a smart list using it. I have no smart lists, other than the "last import" one.

I have at least one duplicate of every list from having merged from a phone with the computer.

Any ideas?
