AirPlay option for disconnected monitor persists on MacBook Pro and iPhone; How can I remove it?
Had a 32" Samsung Smart Monitor/TV and it appears as an Airplay option on my MacBook Pro and iPhone. But for over a week the device is gone, no power, and not connected to my router, but still shows up as a mirroring options on two Apple devices. It seems to be Wifi not Bluetooth, and it’s mirroring name is 32" Smart Monitor M7 and I tried taking my iPhone and MacBook to another wifi and it disappeared. As soon as I connect to my wifi, it comes back even though the TV/device isn’t here. I’ve tried the following:
- Disconnecting all devices from wifi and turning off
- Changing the SSID name of the router
- Connecting phone and Mac individually
The device always appears on both my MacBook and iPhone despite being in a box somewhere for weeks without power.
What is causing it to be persistent in both devices? Should I do a full factory reset of my router? I can’t change the MAC address if it (old TP-Link Archer D2 ADSL modem running in router mode), and I haven’t tried changing its IP address or subnet. Out of ideas but I still have an Airplay option that doesn't exist, and comes back every time I come home, lol
