I have an LG Slim Portable DVD player. It had previously worked on my iMac but now it won't.
The only difference I think of is that I'm now on OS 27.0.1 Golden Gate.
However, the DVD player will still work on my older iMac which is running OS Catalina.
I'm using an Acer USB hub to connect the player to the new iMac.
Are you referring to the DVD player app or does the entire drive not appear? My understanding is that Golden Gate is dropping DVD player support but third party players (check https://www.videolan.org/vlc/) , and DVD drives, should still work.

On Golden Gate the DVD symbol doesn't appear on the Desk Top, the disk drive doesn't sound as if much is happening
....but it all works ok on Catalina.
I've been using VLC for several years (on Catalina) but nothing appears on the Desk Top with Golden Gate, so there's nothing to drag into the VLC window.....unless there's another way of using it which I don't know.
