Upgraded shared album not updating in Photos on MacBook Pro after macOS update

I recently updated my MacBook Pro to the latest MacOS (Tahoe 26.7.1) and my iPhone 16 Pro to the latest iOS (27.0.1). I "upgraded" a shared album on iPhotos so a friend with an android phone could view it. That shared album works fine on my iPhone, but not on my MacBook. When I go to the shared album in Photos, it says that the shared album in not updating and that I should update to the latest version of MacOS. How can I get Photos to recognize that I have actually updated to the latest MacOS? Or any other suggestions to get this shared album to work?

Regarding getting Photos to recognize that you have updated to the latest macOS:

There is a later version of macOS (Golden Gate 27.0.1), but it might not be installable on your model of MacBook Pro. If you go to the Apple menu and select About This Mac, what does the fine print below MacBook Pro say? What does the "Chip:" line say? Golden Gate requires an Apple Silicon chip.

I don't know if that is the complete explanation of your problem with the new format Shared Album, but probably it is.
