FaceTime automatically maximizes on MacBook Air M3

Macbook Air M3

macOS 27.0.1

Can't minimise FaceTime.

Even if I minimise it, it constantly pops up by itself. For example, it is enough to open a webpage and FaceTime maximises by itself.

It is a very annoying bug. It is there since macOS 26 (at least).

How to solve?

To stop FaceTime from automatically maximizing or popping up on your MacBook Air M3, open FaceTime > Settings > FaceTime, and deselect "Automatic prominence while speaking". If the issue persists due to group call resizing or continuous auto-focus, disable "Calls from iPhone" under FaceTime > Settings > General or exit full-screen mode by pressing Control-Command-F.
