Your SIM issues should not affect whether you can access your home screen. Force Restart your iPhone --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
But you need to determine why your SIM is not supported, which is usually because the phone is locked to a carrier and you're trying to use a different carrier. Did you buy a used iPhone? If it is SIM Locked, ONLY the carrier it is locked to can unlock it. You can't. Apple can't. We can't help you either. You'll have to contact the carrier the phone is locked to and see if it qualifies for unlock. If you're not their customer, they are not obligated to unlock the phone as there may be unpaid bills due on the account.
