Apple Business not recognizing published verification record for domain ownership?

Hello,

I'm trying to verify ownership of my domain for my business account.

I've added the exact TXT record supplied by Apple to our DNS records. The record is publicly visible in TXT lookups, and I've confirmed that the nameservers are correct. However, when I select Verify in Apple Business under Settings → Domains, the status remains unchanged and the domain stays unverified.

Does anyone have any suggestions on why Apple Business isn't recognising the published verification record and advise on the next steps?

Is the record correct? Have you waited until your TTL expires?

What is this for anyway? Apple is known to struggle with these kinds of issues. You might not notice it when you use the consumer facing services. But once you get past that with "developer" or "business" interactions, you'll find that Apple really has trouble with basic operations like updating an address, updating a credit card, updating payment links, etc. Even when Apple provides what seems to be an automated web-based interface, it's clear that someone is manually re-keying the information you entered into a different system.
