AirPods 5 generating daily AccessoryCrash logs after 11 PM

I'm getting AccessoryCrash logs from my AirPods almost every night after 11 PM (JST).

My iPhone and AirPods are already on the latest firmware, but the crashes keep happening.

The logs point to firmware-update-related services (e.g. UARP) and very high heap usage, which looks like an OOM issue on the earbuds.

Hi there

Please try this

A normal disconnect isn't enough; you need to wipe the local flash memory (eepromManagerService) where cached UARP updates are staged.

  • Place your AirPods in their charging case and close the lid.
  • Wait 30 seconds, then open the lid.
  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth on your iPhone, tap the (i) icon next to your AirPods, and select Forget This Device.
  • With the case lid open, press and hold the Setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds, until the status light flashes amber, then white.
  • Reconnect the AirPods to your iPhone. This clears the corrupted fwupWorker cache that is trying to load every night.
