Logic Pro plays no sound when using .qta files from iPhone 18 pro max voice memos
Hello, I am having an issue with a lack of sound from a .qta voice memo from iPhone 18 pro max imported into Logic Pro. I can see the waveform, but playing back there is no sound output, and the volume bars stay empty.
I have tried changing various Spatial Audio settings but to no avail. The file itself can be opened by other apps, including in its surround sound form, and in fact if I click import as audio file, and select the file, if I click play while in finder, it starts playing normally in Spatial Audio. However then opening it, or dragging it, I can never get any sound from it. Whether for playback or bouncing.
I have tried to create a test .qta file by merging some wav files, and had no issue playing that back with Logic Pro.
I am on version 12.4, macOS 27.0.1.
I have tried resetting the various caches, launching without Audio Units, reinstalling the whole app and different sound output selections, but the iPhone 18 pro max voice memo .qta file seems to never play back any sound.
(Using a different format isn’t a solution as I intend to use studio voices and the 3d field)
