Call Forwarding not working and spinning indefinitely after update 27.0.1

I am trying to use Call Forwarding without any luck. On selecting the action it wheel spins forever without actioning to the next screen. Is this an issue with the recent update 27.0.1?

iPhone 11 Pro, iOS 27

Call Forwarding Keeps Spinning?

If the Call Forwarding option keeps spinning or loading indefinitely in your iPhone’s Settings, it may indicate that your mobile carrier is unable to process the request.

There could be two possible reasons:

1. Call forwarding is not supported for your SIM: Your carrier may not support the Call Forwarding feature for the SIM or mobile plan you are currently using.

2. The forwarding number is not supported: Your carrier may not permit call forwarding to the particular number you have entered. This could be due to restrictions on forwarding calls to certain numbers, networks, or international destinations.

What can you do?

Contact your mobile carrier to confirm whether Call Forwarding is supported on your SIM and whether the number you wish to forward calls to is permitted. You can also ask the carrier to check whether the feature is enabled on your account.

Keep in mind that the spinning indicator alone does not necessarily mean that your carrier does not support Call Forwarding. It could also indicate a temporary network issue or a problem communicating with the carrier's systems.

Additionally, the following features are also carrier-specific and require support from your cellular provider:

  • SMS & MMS
  • Wi-Fi Calling
  • Call Forwarding
  • Call Waiting
  • Call Merge & Conference Calls
  • Personal Hotspot
  • Voicemail (Visual or Normal) (except for Live Voicemail, which also requires carrier support)

If you are experiencing issues with any of these features, contact your carrier (the agency that issued your SIM/eSIM) for assistance.

This usually happens when location sharing permissions are mismatched between you and your contacts. Since they can see your location but you can’t see theirs, it means your side of the connection is fine, but theirs hasn’t been fully enabled.

Network & Privacy Settings

  • Both devices need a stable internet connection.
  • On their phone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Find My should be set to While Using the App.
  • If Location Services are off, you won’t see them.

The process shown in the image must be enabled on both devices.

To use Find My and Location Services on an iPhone effectively, both your iPhone and the device you're trying to locate must have an active internet connection. These services rely on internet access to share your location with friends and family and to track the locations of devices, people, and items. Without internet connectivity on either end, the sharing and locating features of Find My and Location Services will not function properly. --> Internet not available WiFi and Cellular … - Apple Community
