Watch series 7 won’t update

i updated my phone ios to 27.0.1 last night then tried to update the ios on my Apple Watch Series 7 this morning. the update kept failing just saying there was an error. so tried updating from watch and that didn’t work. Watch has been on charger when trying and both devices restarted. I’ve now unpaired the watch and reset it but now I can’t re pair it as it says it needs an update which fails again when I try. The watch is now unusable. Any ideas?

Please try this

Pair with an Older iPhone: If you have access to a secondary or older iPhone still running iOS 26 (or an un-updated device), pair the watch to that phone first to finish or bypass the update block, then unpair and connect back to your main phone.
Delete Stored Update File: If you can access the watch's internal settings or manage it via an older device, go to Settings > General > Storage on the watch and delete any stuck or pre-downloaded update files before trying again.
Recovery Mode: Place the Apple Watch on its magnetic charger, hold your iPhone nearby, and double-press the side button to launch the hidden "Recover Apple Watch" screen if prompted.

Thanks for your reply. I’ve tried all 3 but still no luck.

Tried to pair with husbands iPhone 10 running iOS 18.7.10 but won’t even connect. Says check it’s on and not paired with another phone.

Cant access any update files to delete.

Tried to Put it in recovery mode but nothing happens. 😔
