IOS 27 changed speaker/hearing aid settings

My Iphone 16 was just updated to IOS 27.0. This morning, the sounds of the ringing phone are heard through the phone's speakers, where in the past they were only heard through my hearing aids.

I cannot find where to switch this back. Can anyone help?

iPhone 15, iOS 27

Wow, that is completely unexpected and buried where I certainly would not think to look for it:

Settings > Accessibility > VoiceOver > Audio > Auto-select Speaker in Call [ ON/OFF ]

the captions says:

"During Audio calls, automatically switch to the speaker when not holding the iPhone to your ear."

I have never even looked at VoiceOver submenu, and this feature was ON by default. Turning mine off now.

(Yes, I wear Hearing Aids )

the long, but more memorable way:

settings > accessibility > Hearing devices ...

... you should see your Hearing Aids named as 'connected' there... if NOT, you need a different intervention, please ask...

then: Audio Routing and Handoff ...

calls :

Always

Media:

Always

the momentary adjustment that is harder to remember:

swipe down from the top right

this opens control center.

press the ear icon to access things about hearing

Audible Aris AI* are listed on the MFI devices list, and showing as 'bidirectional streaming', which means they can use their own microphone while on calls, rather that having to speak into the base of your iPhone as the microphone.

I suggest you next check with your hearing provider or the manufacturer's support site to be certain the App is completely up to date and its settings are appropriate for your use.
