Gratuitous notifications from central pulse.it.com

I am receiving gratuitious home screen popup "trojan" warnings on my newly Apple Store- purchased Mac 24" from centralpulse.it.com. I have turned them off in my Notifications settings (too recent to know it that is making a difference), but I seriously doubt the legitimacy of this arcane "service." Is this issue familiar to anyone?

Open Safari and go to Safari > Settings > Websites, and select Notification on the left. Delete all websites that appear where you have previously granted permission for the website to send Notifications. Those will show in the upper right of your Desktop screen, even when Safari is not open, and they are typically those fake security warning messages to get you to download some software you don't need for a problem you don't have.
