Mac delays spoken announcements of dismissed alert pop-ups
Why does my Mac speak the text from an alert pop-up many seconds after it has been dismissed? It doesn't happen every time and I am not sure how to stop it without turning them off entirely.
I have it set to two seconds, long enough I can read and dismiss the alert if I am present, yet still allow it to be spoken if I am not nearby. Instead I get the alert, I dismiss it and sometimes, around 10 to 12 seconds after that the Mac speaks the alert text that was dismissed. Normally if it is dismissed, it won't speak.
It doesn't happen with any consistency and it is a new behavior since macOS 27.
I know the "two seconds" is relative, and that the machine may take a bit longer but this is a fairly long delay and I dismissed it already so it shouldn't speak at all.
Also the volume was set way too high the first time, despite my system alerts being set much lower. I mention that only because it was a new behaviour that happened with it, I have since adjusted the volume.
