Keynote audio distorts and clips randomly on MacBook Air with Bluetooth headset

When recording a keynote, the audio sometimes distorts/clips randomly. This happens to at least some of the audio on every presentation. I am using a bluetooth headset, however I have tried two different Bluetooth headsets and both have had this issue so it does not seem to be a hardware issue. The audio goes from normal to completely distorted and unintelligible and back on the same recording. I am using a brand new Macbook Air to record with.
