I have recently upgraded to Mainstage 2 and found that when I change patches the patch names and patch numbers don't change on the layout as they used to in 1...am doing something wrong?
MacBook,
Mac OS X (10.5.8),
Logic 9 and Mainstage 2
Thats odd. Try a test. In Layout mode, put a "parameter text" object on your layout. In Edit mode, at the Concert level, use the inspector to Map the object to Actions>Current Patch (or patch #).
Start with a template.
In Layout, check the settings for the box 'Patch Names'
these should be:
Appearance: View: 'Patches & Sets' or 'Patch Names or Markers'
Items to display: 1 (or more)
Set up a few patch names in Edit & check what happens when you change patches.
Would you please elaborate on this? I have the same problem. In every concert the label at the top is always #1. However the patch label is fine in the sidebar so it is more an irritation than anything. This is a new install. Please give me a starting point "actions>...." where is this? Do you mean an action menu on the layout page?
Now I have this sorted. Most of the templates I tried had this set wrong.
Select the concert icon on the left sidebar in Edit screen.
The Concert Inspector appears at the bottom if Inspectors is on.
Select the Text box where the patch appears.
Go to the mapping tab. On the columns that say Range min and Range max expand to include all of the patches in the concert. Mine was set to from patch 1 to patch 1. Not helpful.
