Seeking external hard drive for MacBook Air A2681 photo storage

I have a macbook air A2681 with usb 4.0 ports and a Thunderbolt port. I want to buy a cheap external hardrive (just for photo storage), 1 TB +, that's just plug and play i.e. formatted correctly and comes with compatible cables. Suggestions please.

The MacBook Air A2681 or 2022 M2 MacBook Air, has 2 USB-C / Thunderbolt 3 ports and a Magsafe 3 port for charging.

Pretty much any external drive sold to day will work in either one of those USB-C ports.

Make sure you select an external drive with a USB-C cable. Some good quality brand sinlcude Samsung, Sandisk, Seagate, Crucial.

Some examples:

Do note, some drives may come formatted fpr windows, but that can be easily resolved by reformating into a Mac compartible format such as HFS+ or APFS in Disk Utility.
