iPhone 18 Pro – 4K 60fps Video Framing Bug (Image Shifts After Recording)

I’m experiencing a possible camera bug on my iPhone 18 Pro running iOS 27.0.1.

When recording videos in 4K at 60fps, particularly when using 4× and 8× zoom, the framing looks perfectly correct on the screen while recording.

However, after stopping the recording and opening the saved video in the Photos app, the image appears significantly shifted compared to what was displayed in the camera preview.

I’ve performed several tests to isolate the issue:

  • 1080p: Works normally.
  • 4K at 30fps: Works normally.
  • 4K at 60fps: The framing issue consistently occurs.
  • 4K at 60fps with Enhanced Stabilization disabled: The issue persists.

This happens in the standard Video mode, without using Action Mode.

The problem has already caused me to lose an important recording because part of the subject was cut off in the saved video, even though it was perfectly framed during recording.

Based on my tests, the issue appears to be specifically related to 4K recording at 60fps.

Has anyone else experienced this issue on the iPhone 18 Pro or 18 Pro Max? Has Apple acknowledged this bug, or is there any known fix or workaround?

Apple uses what they call 3D sensor shift optical stabilization. This should not crop the image or change the angle of view. It’s applied automatically at 4x and 8X, but does not have an off setting. However, if you are near the minimum focus distance of approximately 200mm, the Fusion Camera may apply a crop to the image. Is this what your experiencing?
