Hi,

To fix an Apple Magic Trackpad that moves the pointer but won't click after upgrading to macOS Sequoia, reset your Bluetooth connection and trackpad settings.

Quick Fixes

  • Restart your Mac: Turn your iMac completely off and back on to clear temporary system and driver glitches.
  • Toggle Bluetooth: Click the Apple Menu > System Settings > Bluetooth, turn Bluetooth off for 60 seconds, and turn it back on to refresh the bluetoothd background process.
  • Check "Tap to Click": Go to System Settings > Trackpad, and make sure Tap to click is turned on so a light tap registers as a click.
  • Adjust Click Pressure: Under System Settings > Trackpad, check if Force Click and haptic feedback is enabled, and try changing the click pressure slider.
  • Check Accessibility settings: Go to System Settings > Accessibility > Pointer Control, and ensure that an option like "Ignore integrated trackpad when a wireless mouse or trackpad is present" isn't misbehaving or conflicting with your setup
