Garageband recording glitchy, delayed audio after updating to macOS Golden Gate

After updating to macOS Golden Gate, I tried to record audio through an external audio interface, but instead the audio was delayed by anywhere from 1-5 seconds, and sounded really buggy (more scratchy, off-tune, almost layered with itself in a weird way, almost like it's been partially corrupted. The effects get worse if it happens to record with more delay). I tested different cables and means of connecting the audio interface, no effect. I tried recording audio through iMovie, and it was totally fine. I recorded audio through GarageBand on another Mac of mine running Golden Gate, same issue. The audio through the audio interface's officially supported monitor app sounds fine. MacOS 27.0.1, GarageBand version 10.4.14.
