Mac Safari profiles show identical web links across all profiles

In Mac Safari each of my profiles shows the identical links in its toolbar. If I add a link in one profile, such as News, it will appear in another profile, such as Personal. If I remove a link in one profile it disappears in all other profiles.

As background I naively followed Google AI's instructions for "solving" (not) a non-Safari issue, including pasting assorted commands into Terminal. Ouch.

Google has been unable to solve this new mess.

Any help much appreciated.

What were the Terminal commands used?

The commands are usually included in:

~/.zsh_history

To display the file contents:

cat ~/.zsh_history

Some of the commands included in that file can be sensitive.

I finally solved it after persevering with google ai. It was very time consuming and complicated, with many commands! Google likes to express certainty about solving issues, and when one approach fails it expresses certainty about solving them a different way … and on and on.

Thanks for your reply, MrHoffman
