Google Maps dysfunctional with missing controls on MacBook Pro

Google Maps suddenly became dysfunctional on 10/21/2026. Map controls are missing and/or not working (no zoom, no street view, no choice of layers, sometimes I see a black map image, or the map image jumps around and is unstable. Google Maps seems to work if I'm not logged in to my Google Account. For a day or so, Google Maps worked in a Safari Private Window, but today, that option vanished. I've been chatting about the issue with Google AI, and tried many suggested solutions, but nothing has solved the problem.

MacBook Pro 2024 M4 16GB, running Mac OS 27.0.1. Problem started prior to updating from OS26 to OS27.

Google Maps works fine on my iPhone.
