Accessible Home button IOS 27

I use the accessible home button. Since updating my phone to ios27, when I press the accessible Home Button I now get the "Top Level Menu" with choices of HOME, APP SWITCHER, CONTROL CENTER, etc.

This requires numerous extra presses throughout my user experience. Come on! When I press the accessible HOME button, doesn't that mean I want to go to the home screen? Really!

Is there a way to set up my phone so when I press accessible HOME button, it takes me to the Home/lock screen?Extra

I can't answer your question directly I'm afraid because I'm not on 27. In Settings search for "Tap". You can set a back tap to take you directly to home. It's OK-ish. It can be a bit laggy if the phone is doing something else and it can be a bit fussy about where you tap - just below the camera works best for me.

I know it's not what you want and it's not perfect but if 27 has changed the way the accessible home button works then the back tap might be a tolerable alternative.
