Importing iPhone 12 Videos to FCPX

Video clips on my iPhone 12 are not being recognised for importation to FCPX running on my Mac Mini operating using Tahoe 26.5.1. Selecting CAMERAS as the source of import material produces an import panel on the FCPX but does not recognise the several video clips currently sitting in my Photos library on the iPhone 12.

This is not answering your question. It is just how I do it.

Rightly or wrongly I never import clips directly from my iPhone into FCP. I transfer them to via Air Drop to my Mac and then import them into FCP.

I do the same as Larrie, but I use Blip, which is infinitely faster and more reliable than AirDrop. I'm usually downloading from 3 iPhones, so speed helps. I've found in the lates couple versions of FCP that importing from your iPhone has gotten a bit more stable, but it's still dead slow. Takes much longer for files to transfer. I've tested this to the hills and back. It's just terribly slow, and unreliable. IMHO. Image Capture works really well but even though it is a wired connection (USB), for some reason it's still as slow as AirDrop.
