Broken Screen Time Settings

yo Apple.

How about fixing your screen time settings. With iOS 27 yall already made it more difficult than it is. With that “all is built on categories” reskin.

make it so the screen time limit is counted properly. And also, for always allowed apps, how about adding a lil toggle setting - count the use of always allowed apps into the general time limit on all apps or no. How about that, so it’s not confusing.

Right now it seems to count the always allowed apps use into general use. But again the counting is so broken in the first place. Because it says the time limit is reached when it’s clearly not.

All I want is to set a time limit for all apps and sites. Fine I do that. And then ALWAYS ALLOWED apps usage not actually counting into the general screen time of all apps.

And on paper it should work because the “all other apps” does not include “always allowed apps” when I look into it. But it still counts something into my screen time limit so what is it?

Fix it.

And also about schedules - how about not making it confusing and glitchy.

also like how I’m using the phone for only 5 hours and the general limit is set to 6 and I STILL get locked out?😍😍😍

Not every issue an individual encounters on their device can be attributed to an iOS update. iOS 27 or later may have coincided with what you are experiencing, but that does not mean the issue was triggered by iOS. Coincidence in timing is not, by itself, evidence of causation.

If the update itself were the root cause, then every device running that same version of iOS would exhibit the identical problem. In such a scenario, the forums would be flooded with countless posts reporting the same malfunction, creating an unmistakable wave of complaints that no one could possibly overlook.

The absence of such widespread reports strongly indicates that the issue is not a general, system-wide problem with iOS 27 or later, but rather something specific to the individual device, its configuration, installed apps, settings, hardware, or another interacting factor.

In short: iOS 27 or later may be a coincidence in timing, but there is no basis to conclude that iOS itself triggered the problem simply because the issue appeared after the update.
