My app library suddenly bundled every single one of my apps together instead of having it separated by shopping, food, games, socials etc. it’s now sorted by utilities, recently added, and “other”. is there a way to change it back to how it was before?
If you see the Other category in the App Library, it generally means that iOS has not yet assigned those apps to their appropriate categories. This can happen particularly when you have recently downloaded or installed several apps. The system may take some time to analyse and organise them into the relevant categories.
This process is automatic. There is no user-facing option to manually assign, change, or manage the categories in the App Library. Once iOS completes its classification, the apps should automatically move into their respective categories.
An important distinction: The category displayed in the App Store is not necessarily the same as the category used by iOS in the App Library or Screen Time.
The App Store category is primarily assigned by the app developer and used for classifying the app in the App Store. Screen Time, on the other hand, uses its own classification system to group apps under categories for features such as App Limits.
Interestingly, the App Library's categorisation can follow the classification used by Screen Time rather than the category displayed in the App Store.

Therefore, do not be surprised if an app appears under a different category in the App Library compared with its App Store listing. These classifications serve different purposes and do not necessarily follow the same categorisation rules.
