Apple Account Mysteriously Drained

Apple keeps deducting money from my Apple account for a ghost subscription. It happened in 2025 and just happened again in 2026. It is for a subscription to New York Times. When I contact support, the “judgement” is that it’s “not eligible for refund.” They are literally stealing money from my Apple account on an annual basis with no accountability. NYT can’t even locate where this money is going since it is not going to the actual account I have with them.

Is there a higher power somewhere in the Apple world who can stop this, or do I have to file a complaint with the California Attorney General‘s office?
