iPhone 17 Pro Bluetooth audio stuttering with JBL Tuner 3 speaker

Dear Apple support team,

I am experiencing persistent Bluetooth audio stuttering when using my iPhone 17 Pro with a JBL Tuner 3 speaker.

The issue has been present since the very first connection. Audio frequently stutters or briefly cuts out during playback, even when the iPhone is stationary with its screen locked.

Device information:

  • Phone: Apple iPhone 17 Pro
  • iOS version: 27.2 (previously 27.0.1)
  • Speaker: JBL Tuner 3 (latest firmware installed)

Troubleshooting already performed:

  • Updated iOS from 27.0.1 to 27.2 – no improvement.
  • Updated JBL Tuner 3 firmware.
  • Removed and re-established Bluetooth pairing.
  • Reset the JBL Tuner 3 to factory settings.
  • Tested with Wi-Fi disabled and devices placed close together.

Comparison tests:

  • iPhone 17 Pro + JBL Tuner 3: Audio stuttering.
  • iPhone 13 Pro + JBL Tuner 3: Works perfectly.
  • iPhone 17 Pro + JBL Charge 4: Works perfectly.

These results suggest a compatibility issue specific to the iPhone 17 Pro and JBL Tuner 3 combination.

Could you please investigate whether this is a known Bluetooth compatibility issue and advise if a software or firmware fix is available or planned?

I would appreciate a technical response from both Apple and JBL, rather than general Bluetooth troubleshooting instructions, as the standard troubleshooting steps have already been completed.

Thank you for your assistance.

we are not apple employees here

personally I've never experienced stuttering with my iphone17 pro with any ios versions I've used, I mostly use sonos speakers, and various bluetooth headsets mostly from creative

but of cause bluetooth audio is the bluetooth profile called a2dp

List of Bluetooth profiles - Wikipedia

so unless the speaker developers do something poorly, or there are interference on the 2.4Ghz frequency where you use the speaker, it should work the same for all.

Expressing or conveying auditory experiences effectively through these forums may be challenging. The underlying sound issue on your iPhone cannot be accurately diagnosed from a YouTube link. Factors such as your iPhone's specific sound settings, visual defects, and potential hardware problems cannot be assessed through this method. For more personalized and in-depth assistance, I recommend securing a Genius Bar Reservation and exploring the various support options provided by Apple.
