How do I fix 'Contact may be read-only' issue on iPhone 17e?

Apple iPhone 17e running 26.6.2: I don't know how to explain this. Please bear with me. When I look for a name on my contact list and I enter the name of the contact I wish to call , I get a message that THE CONTACT MAY BE READ ONLY ?? What is that and how can I get rid of it.

Also, I may see an entry on my Contact like "PAUL" and the contact that comes up is another one. I do not have a "LINK" account and if I do, how do I get rid of that.

Contacts reside on a mail server, and are only synced to the iPhone. Go to Settings/Apps/Contacts, tap on Accounts and see which accounts are listed with the Contacts option on. If it is only iCloud we can investigate further, but if it is any other email provider you need to contact the help desk for that email account.
