I need the onscreen slider for volume control to stay on the screen longer when I press the volume button. Why, apple, why won't you let me control how long it stays on screen?? I need it to stay longer than the half second you put it up for!
If you access the iPad volume control from the Control Centre, the volume control slider will remain visible on screen until the Control Centre is dismissed from view. The Control Centre is exposed using a downward swipe from the top-right corner of the screen.

Instead of using on-screen volume controls, why not simply use the physical volume control buttons located on the edge of the iPad?
you can suggest they add that configuration by using their feedback channels
