Numbers spreadsheet lost recent data and backups reverted

A Numbers spreadsheet that I have been updating on a weekly basis has lost all recent data. It has reverted to a version from last May. The really strange thing is that my various backups, including Time Machine, have also reverted.

What can I do to recover my data?
