Prevent unauthorized Roblox charge deduction from Apple Pay on iPhone

Hello Apple Support,

I am contacting you regarding a Roblox purchase of approximately $25.

My child made several purchases of Robux on an iPhone using Apple Pay, which is linked to my bank card. I did not make or authorize these purchases.

At the time, the money had not yet been deducted from my bank card, although the purchases were successfully completed.

I have already contacted Roblox Support and resolved the matter with them. Roblox Support is not requesting any payment from me.

I am not asking for a refund. My only request is that Apple does not charge my bank card for this specific $25 transaction.

Please help me prevent this charge from being deducted from my card.

Thank you very much for your understanding and assistance.

iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 27

Purchases on your device require your Passcode and if you give that to someone else to use your device, you have authorized them to make purchases. If you wanted to prevent them from making purchases, Apple offers a variety of tools to do that, but they must be used by you before that purchase is made. Here are a couple of ways that could have been done.

  • Require Password for purchase, and this would be one your child does not know.

  • Use Screen Time restrictions to prevent any in-app purchases.

  • And finally, if you want to completely prevent the use of the App Store for even downloading apps, you can also turn that off in Screen Time.

What I suspect you are seeing now is a Pending charge if it has not been billed to your card. It is not possible to remove a Pending charge or request a refund on a Pending Charge. As pointed out, in most cases all transactions in the App Store are final, but at times Apple may provide a compassionate refund. Only after the Pending charge has been processed would you be able to request a refund to see if it would be granted.

Sales on the Apple App Store are all sales final. Any refunds granted are a courtesy and not a routine process. When you provided your child your device and passcode you authorized any and all transactions the child conducted.

This sounds harsh and I don’t mean it to be. But I’ve seen posts in the community here of children charging hundreds of dollars and the refund was denied. It’s best to add the safeguards brbo refers to in their post. Good luck!
