I wish to pre-order a 14" MacBook Pro PROLED XDR and trade-in a 14" MacBook Pro (March 2026 17,7). When asked to select the model year of my MBP "Late 2025" is the latest option in the drop-down list, i.e. "Early 2026" is not an option. Any idea why this might be? Any suggestions how one might report this presumed problem to Apple short of a phone call?

That’s not surprising. Typically the most recent products and/or models that are still on sale won’t have trade-in values.
You can always call/visit an Apple Store (if one is near to you) or give support a call to see if there is a way to trade-in/get a trade-in value.
Macs currently for sale as new are never available for in Trade-ins purposes.
