New iOS 4.1

Sounds good, and I hope that it solves some of the problems for people that are having them. However, I am also wondering what new batch of problems will pop up, as they always seem to with software updates.

I watched the Keynote but I missed some of it. The fact that I could stream it directly to the iphone still amazes me. Even just a few years ago I never thought I could watch LIVE broadcasts from my cell phone. Anyway, did Jobs say when next week the update is coming. I heard him say "next week" but did not hear a specific day.

lol he didn't mention about the white models, just the ios4.1 and 4.2 updates. and of course the new ipod lines and the new apple tv that's about it.

he was refering to how SJ said white iphones were releasing in the coming weeks, and it never released. So the poster is taking it with a grain of salt.

Why don't they enable the FM capabilities on the Broadcom BCM4329 chip? Surely an iOS update can do this?

Assuming that's even possible, no one here (or anywhere but Apple) could possibly know the answer.

Finally.. Been waiting for a fix to the ps.

The only way you could ever listen to FM radio is with the headphones plugged in all the time. Pretty pointless when there are so many other options for music.

I'd prefer to have a choice and be able to listen to FM radio if I want. I mean it's already on the chip!. But it would cut into iTunes profits. Although they do offer it with the fancy earbud connector thing right?

iTunes is set up to be a break even for Apple with this included with their financial reports. Is some profit made, sure - it is not done at a loss, but iTunes is no cash cow or significant profit center for Apple. The majority of iTunes revenue is paid to the music labels, movie and television studios, and 3rd party app developers. Apple's profit center lies with the sale of hardware with iPods, iPhones, and now the iPad with having the content available with iTunes being a significant incentive to purchase the hardware.

This is not how HDR works nor how it was described. HDR is a composite of exposers, under, regular, and over. You will end up with 2 pictures, the regular and the HDR.

That means the beginning of the week after next.
