Your Payment Method Was Declined....A FIX

THERE IS A FIX! At least it worked for me!! I have had the same problem for the past two days with my iPhone 4 and spent over an hour on the phone yesterday with iTunes support. I lost the other forum post I read a little earlier who did this and it worked for them so I tried it! Go into iTunes and DELETE all your credit card or (Paypal) info by selecting "NONE". (I use my PayPal account instead of a credit card). Click done. Now log out of iTunes. Since I use PayPal I went to PayPal and deleted iTunes in my pay list. I also logged out of iTunes on my iPhone. (settings > store > sign out). I waited about 15 minutes then opened iTunes, logged in and went back and verified my payment option (PayPal) again. I waited another 10 minutes or so and then opened up the APP store on my phone and I was able to download apps again!!!!!! Hurrah!!!!!! I hope this works for you, too!

Still no fix.... I've received 1 email in a week - still nothing said except, "you'll receive an email once this issue is researched." Yeah No faith here.... These people simply do not care. I've been to ten....I say again TEN different sites. I've counted thousands of customers affected and still no reply, no "online assistance" and no reply sayiong they're even checking into this. Customer service, or the lack there of, for iTunes simply has failed me! The worst part, there is NOTHING we can do but sit and wait for someone else to do their job.

GOT IT TO WORK!!!!

Did what Tom McCauley said (in another thread) he did and it worked for me F*CKING FINALLY!!!!

Went store.apple.com
Signed In, went to my billing info. Funny enough, i didn't have any card information in there, not even paypal even though that is the one i've been using.

Anyway, i put my normal debit card info and it went through with no problem.

Went back to itunes, tried to download a free app and it asked me to verify my card info (as it has been doing for the past week). When i was in there, i selected NONE and it finally accepted NONE, and voila, I was able to download free apps like I normally do WOOHOO!!!!

And now the good part, i entered a debit card info, another one, one i tried this week and kept declining and it ACCEPTED IT and i was able to buy the Calculator App i needed for work.

Will try to change country information and billing option, to see if it works but so far WORKING FOR ME....

Nope. store.apple.com did the same for me. When I logged in to my account there was no billing info listed although I've used the same card now for 8 years. The apple store accepted my Visa, no problem. When I logged back in to iTunes everything is still declined....even NONE. I still think Apple should send us something for this! I even went an bought a $50 iTunes card.......DECLINED. Oh well. Maybe it will eventually work for us.......?

This is driving me nuts.

I have tried multiple credit cards, nothing works. I cannot select "none" either.

This fix did not work, I tried it 3 times.

My credit card WAS verified until I did the foolish and changed my email address and it wanted me to verify the credit card details again.

This issue has been around for years, and nothing official from Apple.

Desperate for a fix.
