iPod Retina - IPS or not?

Is the Retina display in the new iPod Touch an IPS panel? The Apple info pages are silent on this. "Retina" would seem to refer to the high-resolution, so in principle, there could be a TN-panel retina display; I hope, of course, that it is an IPS panel.

iPod Touch 4g, iOS 4

if i understood Steve Jobs correctly, the new Touch will get the same (retina) display as the new generation iPhone has.

Right... but until it is stated somewhere positively that it is an IPS panel (or physical examination shows it to be the case), it seems ambiguous to me.

Apple has been explicit in touting the IPS display in the iPad, iPhone 4, iMacs, and Cinema Displays... why not here? Perhaps it's an oversight, but I'd like to know definitively.

Even though, Steve jobs didn't mentioned about the new screen having the same IPS technology on the iPhone 4/IPad. We could only guess since apple improved the screen for the retina display it probably gave the same treatment to the iPod touch. Probably we all have to wait and test the devices ourselves when it comes out to apple retail stores.

Yeah. I totally forgot about IPS but it is probable they might have it because then they could buy the same parts for iPhone and iPod Touch.

It makes sense (for Apple) to use downgraded or even dumbed-down components (iPod's camera!). And it makes "sense" for someone who pays $400 more for 3G module (iTouch + 3G = iPhone ;)) to be vindicated with top notch components.

Yet engadget says nothing about IPS or lack thereof.
