why my payment method was declined when i want to buy an application ?.. the credit card can be used for an hour before to buy another application and there's no problem before..
thanks
A lot of frustrated discussion on various other threads about this same problem. And so far, no solution that I've seen.
Most commenters have already contacted their credit card companies as OrangeMarlin has suggested and found that there was no problem there. And they've tried resetting credit card info, or have tried alternate cards, or paypal - whatever they can think of.
Apple support, on the other hand, has been lacking. People are still waiting for their promised 48 hour email response, some have spent tons of fruitless time on support lines, and the responses that have been returned haven't solved their problems.
I'm waiting for my own reply - but not optimistic...
I have same problem. I can buy 1 application then a few min. later I try buying a 2nd one and I then get the 'payment...' message. If i try seevral hours or another day it work again with same credit card. I can never buy more than 1 application at a time with a given credit card.
The weird thing is that when I bought my ipad everything was working just fine. I guess they did some changes at their end that broke the payment funct.
I am having the same issue. Why doesn't iTunes have a customer service phone number? Ridiculous. I own 2 ipod touches, an iphone and an ipad. I can't purchase any apps or songs because the payment system is clearly not functioning. I used the same paypal account for years on itunes and all of a sudden it doesn't work. I tried adding 3 different cards and they all say DECLINED. Doesn't make any sense. Does anyone have an answer?
Same situation as everyone else! Just bought the iPad and Paypal was declined on first attempt to buy an app. I haven't had a chance to sync with my iMac yet, so I'm hoping this will help with an update.
There are 2 ways to e-mail support - from inside the app store/actual app you aren't able to download AND in Apple Support. I have not received any responses either, but apparently once you are in the system as having this issue they know how to fix it. There are just tons of people having this issue...
I used both contact options and hope it's fixed soon. I also wasted a couple hours trying to fix my billing, so I feel your pain and aggravation! They should give everyone a $10 app store credit for pain and suffering. lol
That won't fix it - sorry! It's a whole app store issue. You can download all the free apps you want, to my knowledge. You just can buy one. Grab Pandora's Box and it will keep you updated as to regularly paid apps that are free for a while.
i thought..i am the only person who has a problem here...at least i can feel that apple should do something about this 'declined' error thing....it is happening around the universe(lol) so better fix it guys....i can wait hmmmmm maybe around 50 hours....they are saying someone will receive answer up to 48 hrs...well...it is not happening..poor management...but ipad is great....it just happened that they can not control 'credit' card payment etc....POOR!
Unbelievable, a computer maker can't control a 'credit card' company! And the first place I always go to sort out my computer problems is Visa. Dumb Apple!
i had this problem only with apple company...i am always using my visa card such us buying something from ebay, amazon etc....this is a big problem that is really a waste of time sometimes...imagine i have to edit my detail every now then just to correct everything....thank God...i read this forum hahaha...sooooo it is not my credit card at all...it is apple system ...hmmmm...poor ....i wanna buy more apps pls and it is weekend.....plsssss
There is light at the end of the tunnel, there was for me anyway.
Just today, I received my 3rd email response from Apple Support, and the problem appears to be fixed at last. My last post here was Sept. 2, so it took more than 16 days for Apple to:
1 – acknowledge that my account had a problem, which they in turn forwarded to the appropriate department (email 1)
2 – assure me that Apple had reviewed my case and that “the proper steps have been taken to resolve this issue”. (email 2)
3 – request that I try a purchase again, and that the problem should be solved. (email 3)
Because I was too busy to waste much time on this issue, I didn’t try any of the fixes, work-arounds, account resets, vpn sign-ins, alternate credit cards, etc. that have been discussed on other “payment method declined” threads – I just let Apple take care of things. In the end, I didn’t have to do anything, my account just started working again.
(My situation: U.S. purchased iPad, U.S. iTunes store, U.S.-based credit card and address, online purchases from China mainland, no VPN)
Having the same problem here. Purchased an album on Friday and last night I get the warning to take me to the account information and it wont accept any credit card I punch in there! And was using Paypal for years!
I guess Apple will only take care of it when they see sales dropping.
Lets simply stop buying until it gets fixed!
if there is a declined thing whether it is Visa or any card...just don't edit or change every minute or often your details....just avoid editing for at least 2 days...then everything will be ok 🙂 🙂
