More music less complaining people. Just hit the play button, minimize the window and enjoy your music.

Look, if the monochromatic interface doesn't effect you that's fine. But don't try to tell everyone else what to do. This is Apple's flagship program, and with the abysmal design in version 10...people can no longer see things at a glance on the sidebar, and navigate quickly. Now they must stop and read every single little thing in a sea of grayish blue. Before the sidebar was helpful, now it's simply distracting and more time consuming.

I'm an old man and it is hard to see without colors for contrast. Besides that everyone in my family thinks it looks blah, bland and ugly and we all regret updating. Thanks for peeing in our coffee Apple!

I could not agree more: we use COLOR TO DISPLAY many different functions... i.e. labels" provides color coding for ease of remembering what is what!!!! I can't believe there is not only no color in iTunes 10, but also, I think the person responsible for the final finished release must have been on acid and seeing colors, so putting any on the interface was just too much... jeeeeeeezzzzzzz..... where's the color, and if no way of having color,WHY iTunes 10 then... it is such a turn off to use now, color literally improves interaction and a better, more intuitive screen and program interface.

which is getting pretty close to megalomaniac thinking... the whole purpose for apple users is to have CONTROL over what WE WANT to do, and not be spoon fed all the garbage that comes "hidden under the hood" of an HP windows computer... BRING BACK THE FREEEEKIN' COLOR APPLE!!!! IT IS COMMON SENSE TO HAVE COLOR CODED ORGANIZATION... LEIF REGO, SANTA CRUZ, CA.

It's not just the colour. But here's an interesting question. Has this amount of resistance and complaining ever happened with an Apple product before? Is this routine with so-caled upgrades? Like -- we expect 500 people to post complaints, it happens every time and we kind of ignore it. Or is this thread something special?

Well, I remember when the Macbooks came out sans the Firewire port...that caused another big commotion.

The difference with iTunes 10 is, even the press is bashing the living daylights out of the interface. Like this snip from MacWorld

+but the Windowsization of parts of the iTunes interface, the blandness of the monochromatic icons, and the additional white in some of its views make the program look much more drab than its previous version. iTunes 10 has a somewhat Soviet utilitarian look which, to my eyes, makes it less interesting to work with+

True, but the criticism here digs deeper if anyone bothers to read all of it.

I've discovered how to get the color back! (http://www.ismashphone.com/2010/09/how-to-get-color-back-into-itunes-10.html) I've tried this and it works! But I hate the new iTunes 10 logo. Anyone else think it looks Windoze-y?

You can download the the old itunes 9 logo icon here

    http://www.themaddonnas.com

and as you can see, we dream in color.
click on contacts tab for the logo.... I will delete it in a couple of days.

directions on what to do if you don't know is in my earlier post here.

    Excellent Lance,

With the feedback from others on how to restore the color of the icons within iTunes 10 itself, and now your post to restore the icon back to the old one....i have no successfully restored my "old iTunes" look back to the way it was. Thank you!

    I prefer the monotone.
Maybe the solution is to have a color on / off option, no?

It's so surprising that the icons has no colours...it sounds like they just forgot to put some!!! It's obvious that grey on grey isn't the best idea!?

...but hey! I'm sure they will listen to us and put some sunshine on those icons!

And about the new logo...well I like it!
  • Isaac Bardin Level 2 (175 points)
I know that I can go back to the old logo. But I still think the new logo looks like something from Windows Vista.
