final cut studio serial number

i recently bought my copy of the academic final cut studio. the instalation finished and i was surprised that i wasn't asked for a serial number when i opened the aplications. then i checked the info, and found a different serial number already entered. it didnt mach the one i got, and i have not entered it. is this a problem?
