do i need to enter my billing info?

I was using my iPad and i tried to get a free app. When the app was downloading it told me to enter my billing info. I will not give that information away. Is there anything else i can do to get apps?

If you're not using a credit/bank card you can enter any address you want.

First of all you shouldn't need to enter your credit/bank card details if all you're doing is downloading free apps. There is an alternative to using a card and that is iTunes gift cards which can be bought in a lot of stores especially music and games related ones.

no... unfortunately, apple uses your billing info to make sure you are in the right store and charged accordingly.

Yes, you could have a friend who has an account gift the app to you, then pay your friend for the app...

Or they could just follow the link I provided and set up an AppleID without a credit card.

But the address is required for iTunes sales... The OP already has an Apple ID as it's a requirement to post here...

You still have to enter an address for tax purposes when you use a gift card...
