How do I reinstall iTunes?

Brand new MacBook Pro. Upon opening up iTunes, a message appears: "This copy of iTunes is corrupted or is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes." Do I throw it in the trash?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.8), Iphone

to remove iTunes completely, click here and follow the instructions.

Thanks, I tried this suggestion, but a new download and installation was required.
