Iphone won't connect wifi with proxy

Hi,
My problem is that my ihpone is apparently connected to the wifi of my university, wich uses a proxy server, but the wifi icon doesn't appear. I put my iphone in flight mode but it says that it isn't connected to the internet when i open safary. The prsy settings are: adress: wnts**.ceit.es ; port 8080. Any hint?

I know how to configure the settings on my iphone.
I just do this:

I select the wifi connection of my university.
Then, i go to : settignd---> wifi----> university's wifi connection
I select DHCP; then in proxy settings-->>> manual
server-->wnts18.ceit.es
Port: 8080
Autntification : off

But it doesn't work. Any idea?

Often, with a proxy network, you'll have to scroll down to HTTP Proxy, select Manual and enter their proxy info. Might look into that.

i have the exact same problem.
as soon as i enter the http proxy address the wlan icon disappears and i cannot access the wlan any more.

it seems the iphone tries to use the proxy address to access the wlan.....
