Screen saver starts when in fullscreen visualizer in iTunes 10

I have my Mac Mini connected to my flat screen TV. I have my screen saver set to come on after the minimum time to protect my plasma panel. Since upgrading to iTunes 10 my screen saver starts after 3 minutes when I'm using a full screen visualizer. I use the visualizer whenever I'm listening to music. This didn't used to happen and it's really annoying. The same thing happens with iTunes 10 on my desktop Mac and my MacBook Pro. Is there a way to stop this happening without turning the screen saver off?

I don't have any answers, but I'm having the same problem. I updated to iTunes 10 a few days ago and today I noticed that the screensaver keeps cutting off the iTunes Visualizer when before the update it didn't. I turned off screensaver for now, but that's not really a long term solution.

Same problem. Glad to hear it's not just me.

I decided to not upgrade to iTunes 10 on my MacPro (which is home to the main iTunes library) after our iMac kept doing this. I use Visualizer ALL the time when I am not sitting on the computer (sometimes even then just to watch the patterns!) and iTunes is on most of the day.

I agree, switching Screen Saver off is not the solution. Apple please fix this. Thanks.

Also, the new lack of album art on the left if the cd only has a few tracks is annoying too. Not sure if v.10 is quite the hit. Ping seems to be its main selling point.

I did provide them feedback on their "Provide iTunes Feedback" link clearly stating my unhappiness with this situation. So hopefully someone somewhere is reading it and something may eventually get done... Here's hoping!

I guess if we all sent our concerns regarding this issue to Apple using the link in iTunes. (iTunes > Provide iTunes Feedback), then we have done our bit and can only wait for a fix in the next update.

Regards,
Jim.

Same problem here. It's giving me a level of rage to be honest - it makes the visualiser functionally useless. There was a post on the Internet (http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-20031559-263.html) where the guy seems to indicate this is by design - I'm not buying it.

If it really was by design, then why does the Macbook fan still spin higher as if it's doing some hefty number crunching? I'm pretty sure the visualiser is still there and running, just hidden by the screen saver.

Bug, plain and simple, and needs a fix.
