low volume/ no sound on piano sounds

Hello,
finally got round to connecting up a midi keyboard to play sounds in garageband. All going well, then this.... grand piano sound now very quiet, electric piano= no sound. Other sounds play fine and if I call up the little garageband keyboard window and click keys with mouse the piano sounds play at normal volume. Also if I run the little demo song on the external keyboard, the piano sounds play at normal volume?
Baffled? Help! Any suggestions welcome, I was trying things out, effects etc. but can't see/fathom what I might have done.

It's a bit late, but for anyone else out there...

Try going to Garageband > Preferences > Audio/Midi

and set the Keyboard Sensitivity to the highest available option 'More'

Hi,
quick update, the quiet volume thing is now happening on other voices/sounds too. My small midi/usb adaptor is new, could it be faulty? Or could the keyboard be at fault? can try a different midi keyboard tomorrow.

Hello,
sorry for slow update, been away.
No I didn't find an answer. However I unplugged the keyboard, little usb/midi device for about a week, whilst away. The other day I tried again from scratch so to speak, re-plugged k/board, usb/mid device and everything was working fine!!?
I changed nothing, no settings etc. I can only think that some setting on the keyboard maybe reset itself whilst disconnected.
I did speak to a friend who has much more experience of midi/usb use + recording, and he seemed to think it was more likely a keyboard/midi/sending issue rather than the mac. especially as the voices could be played via the pop up keyboard window.
So no answer, but maybe just try re-plugging everything! 🙂
