Change Alias?

I used my email address for the account alias when signing up. The system allowed this and I have posted 2 messages.

Shortly after, however, the system issued an email saying that an email name was not acceptable as an alias and that I needed to change the alias.

On the account page that indicates my alias is the link to My Settings. However, on my settings there is no option to change (rename) the alias?

Further, there is no Help topic on this matter. I have obtained another account using a different email address pending resolution?

Thanks,

Mark

Typical Apple answer, hold the phone the right way.

There is an issue here that can be EASILY fixed yet no one cares. I have already submitted proof of how some people have had their nicknames changed and how topics suddenly disappear to a few people... we'll see where this will end up.

We live in an age where people care about their privacy and their names showing everywhere is not right. What would you do if your real FULL name was your Alias?

qb84,

"How do I create my public profile?
When you log in to Apple Discussions for the first time with your Apple ID, you will be asked to create a New User Account, which will serve as your public profile. Choose a memorable alias (user name) that's between 2 and 30 characters in length and type it in the Alias field.
Important: If you enter your real name in the Alias field, your real name will appear as your alias. Also note that angle bracket characters ( ) are not allowed. Once you create an alias, you cannot make changes to it. If you want to change your alias, you will need to create a new User Account."

Why would I want to try to pick a fight?

I'm requesting something so simple I could do it in a second. There has to be some way to update the database even if there was no "option" in the software.

Some people have had their names changes (people who used email addresses). How come I can't do the same to my other account?

I'm the one who is doing all the reasoning, you guys just ignore it all.
