Itunes 10 won't sync music to my iPhone 3GS 4.0.2

After I upgraded to iTunes 10, my iPhone will not sync any music apart from ONE album that I have purchased over the iTunes store.
All my other music I have in my iTunes will not sync, no matter what I try!

Is this a know problem and is there a way to make this work again?

And if not, how do I revert back to iTunes 9?

So it sounds like some people still have color close/min/max buttons in the upper left (like in Apple screen shots) where as others (like myself) have all gray.

Can anyone else confirm this? My close/min/max are all gray since the upgrade to iTunes 10. Note, I'm NOT talking about the icons like Home, playlists, etc. This seems crazy un-Apple to have the same version with two different UI's.

I've done an iPhone restore, still using iTunes 10. Wanted to try that before deleting my whole library or going through the fuss of changing back to iTunes 9. Seems to have worked with everything going back where it should, and additional music I've recently purchased also transferring over, specifically items I purchased THROUGH the iPhone which did not appear on my phone, but did sync back to iTunes on my Mac.

Working for now.

Now I might see what the real problem is.
I just realized that iTunes had lost all track to all my songs and where they are "physically".
I have all my music on a NAS, and after the 10 upgrade it seems that all the music lost it's link to where they reside originally.

I just didn't see that exclamation mark while digging into this issue!

Now I have deleted my itunes list, and will start rebuilt it from scratch to see if this helps.

From what I can tell we are all sharing symptoms but different people are having different causes. For example, my iTunes did not lose track of the music since I did not have the little exclamation point and it played just fine out of the computer. All of my check were still in place next to the items to sync, etc. These have been issues for other people. So it's interesting that these all seem to be happening - real problems that people are having and legitimately reporting, but different. My stuff has been fine since my device restore, but I am still on iTunes 9.2.1

My problem is a little diferent, every now and again after syncing my phone to my computer my music and video library simply disappears, on the ipod tab it will say I have no media but if I go to Settings/iPod/about it will say I have #29 videos which should be right, no songs, when I should have about 3000 and it will show the phone's capacity and show that I only have 2Gb available, so where did my videos and music go? I tried to reset the phone but it didn't work, anyone ha ve any idea what's wrong?

i had the same problem. the problem i experienced is down to the fact that I had filled up my iPhone with music. what i did was plug my iPhone into my macbook, wait for everything to sync (except my music) then i clicked on the iPhone in My Devices down the left hand side. i then clicked on "Music" tab at the top and it gave me the option to select playlists etc or sync my entire music library. i selected my entire library and it then synced all my music and solved my problem. i hope this is the same situation others are experiencing and you are able to fix the problem.
