Keynote not working with projector

I was hoping someone could help me out with my projector problem. I have the VGA adapter plugged in to the ipad. But when I try to play the presentation in keynote, nothing happens. Yes I did push play. Is there something I have to do before I can use the output feature? I just bought it, so I'm assuming I need to adjust something. I did search the forums and couldn't find a topic on this other than checking my plugs and making sure the app supports VGA. Thanks for any possible feedback.

On a side note, it also isn't working with video, youtube, or pictures.

I just had a very bad experience with not being able to project my Keynote presentation. Using a viewSonicpj503d/dlp projector and iPad and software 4.3.3 I was able to project prior to my formal

presentation, then the projector would not recognize the iPad...not in Keynote, not in video. I finally

did a work around by opening a pdf version of my presentation in Good Reader which was recognized

by the projector.

How could I have restored the Keynote presentation to be recognized by the projector. By the

way, after the session, and the iPad and projector had been off for a while, I was able to use

Keynote again. Nice to know but totally ineffective at the moment of presentation and a bad

mark on the iPads 'blotter."

Any suggestions on how to do a fix?

Thank you
