Opening iTunes causes my PC to show a blue screen

purchase of a new iPhone necessitated an upgrade of iTunes version. Upgrade seemed to take, but after restart, opening the program consistantly makes my computer crash. I have uninstalled the six related programs in order suggested, then installed current version (even trying version 10 installation yesterday) still crash, crash, crash.

Here's my notes on blue screen data:
* STOP: 0X0000007E (0CV0000005, 0CBF271800, 0XA380650C, 0XA3806208)
*ati3duag.dll – address
Datestamp 46eb3954

Much of my investment in apple products and software is unavailable to me. I need help.

dell, Windows XP, iPhone 4

That's your video card or display adaptor, poncevd. There's troubleshooting information on the Radeon-related blue screens in the following document:

I got the BSOD too after upgrading to Itunes 10 on my Win XP SP3 machine. It actually failed when it finished downloading, and my diplay locked up - then the blue screen of death.

Have rebooted about 20 times today. Have a GForce 6200 A-LE video card, found some updated drivers that I downloaded from this laptop, but I cannot install them because the XP desktop machine has been rendered useless.
