Keyboard dock shortcut commands

What are some of the keyboard shortcut commands that I can do on the iPad's keyboard dock? I'm not used to mac's keyboard layout, so I'm unsure of how to use buttons like "control", "command" or "option". I was wondering if you guys at apple forums can help me out a bit.
I'm trying to replicate some of the common commands that you would normally find on a computer.
